This past weekend we hopped in a car and headed to the east coast with a bunch of friends. We spend 2 lovely days sitting on the beach, swimming, and of course, getting our tans (burns) on....
The east sea was absolutely gorgeous! We had wonderful weather and the water was actually quite warm and very clear. The beaches didn't even compare to Busan and Haeundae... There was still a lot of people in the water and on the beach by our Canadian standards, but it wasn't near as crowded!
On saturday night we wandered into town and found a small carnival. We only went on 1 ride, and it was sooooo much fun, and sooooo dangerous.... It was like a tilt-a-whirl, the one where you spin super fast in a circle... Well, in Canada, you would be strapped in safely and the ride would just spin. Not here, in Korea! There was no seat belts, just seats, and as you spun the ride operator made the ride bounce, buck, and tilt so there were people flying everywhere. Occasionally they would stop the spinning and focus on 1 or 2 people on the ride with spotlights, make fun of them a little into the microphone and try their hardest to send them flying out of their seat. Brian and I got picked on, and Brian had to save me from tumbling down the ride towards the other people. It was a little scary but lots of fun at the same time!
We spent the weekend just relaxing and enjoying the company of great friends for one of our last summer weekends in Korea! The weather is finally starting to cool off and before we know it autumn will be here and we'll be heading home!

I can just imagine recieving a call from the Canadian consulate informing us of your unfortunate death due to a crazy Korean carnival ride. Our kids pray for you and Uncle Brian every night, maybe we have to pray a little harder :S lol jk
