"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbour, catch the trade winds in your sails.

Explore. Dream. Discover."

The Netherlands

After China we headed to The Netherlands for 2 weeks. Brian's family was nice enough to host us and be our tour guides as well. They gave us the royal treatment and showed us all of the sights it was wonderful! We had so much fun with them and it was nice to see some familiar faces and hear some family stories after being away so long.

The BIG church in Breda
Exploring Breda- Brian's family was nice enough to show us around their town (Breda) and Brian and I spent a day walking around the town

We went to Brussels, Belgium one day with Brian's family. After some detours with traffic and construction and marathons and whatever else was going on in Brussels that day, we ended up having a wonderful time in Brussels! It is such a neat city! And of course Brian enjoyed his mussels in Brussels...

Brian's family also took us to some other sites in Holland
 Kinderdijk
 Volendam

We made it to the Van Elburg bakery
Brian's Great Grandfather was the pastor at this church. Their house was built on the adjacent lot, however, they had recently built a whole new house there.

Our 2nd week in Holland we went to Scheveningen (try and pronounce that one!) to visit our friends Megan and Joel who had recently moved to Holland. It was AMAZING to see them after a whole year! We had an awesome time catching up, eating good food and of course drinking good beer and wine! We did a lot of exploring with them in their town and we also went for a bike ride to Delft- which was about 40 mins. away.
At Delft we went into the BIG church there. You could climb all the way up to the top of the tower which gave you a great view of the city!
We also took an overnight trip to Amsterdam and saw the sights. Amsterdam is such a cool city and so different from any of the other cities we have seen on our travels.

We absolutely LOVED Holland! We had a wonderful 2 weeks there and were almost not ready to leave!
