... That is exactly how long we have been in Korea....
Can you believe how quickly 9 months flies by? Brian and I still look back to the end of September when we were packing for this adventure, trying to figure out what to bring. We still both remember getting on our flight and thinking oh sh*t, what did we just get ourselves into??? We remember the first week in Korea, where everything was just complete sensory overload.
While we remember it all, it seems like light years ago instead of 9 months. These have been an amazing 9 months. The stuff that Brian and I have learned about ourselves, each other, and the world. Our eyes have been truly opened. And I think we both look at things a little differently now. I know my priorities and goals in life have grown.
That all being said, a few months ago, Brian and I started thinking about the idea of What do next.... While we both absolutely love Korea, and both like the job (minus a few stresses) we both knew it would be time to head back home to Canada (wherever in Canada that may end up being...). We came to Korea because we graduated university, had no career paths, and were broke. The decision (that Brian doesn't remember making...) to come Korea was supposed to give us time to find clarification and an understanding about what's next in life, what kind of careers and lives we want for our futures... Well, anyone coulda guessed it, that didn't happen. It's like once we got on that airplane the pause button was hit on 'real life'. 9 months into our year here we're not 1 step closer to deciding, in fact I think we may be less clear about what we want than when we started!
But Brian and I have faced the facts, and decided 'oh well, what will be will be'. We are currently in the process of purchasing plane tickets back to the land of the maple leaf. It looks as if we will be leaving Korea the 2nd week of October. Now that we have dates and are about to purchase flights, it seems surreal. We only have about 3 1/2 months (about 110 days!) left in this wonderful country! We hope to cherish every moment of it and make some more great memories, and also that the time will go a little quickly so we can be home with our families soon!
See you all soon! Lots of Love!
Robyn & Brian
Hetty says make a pit stop in Breda, she would love to have you stay with her family for a while. Boy that time really is going by quickly; so much has happened at home here too! Looking forward to seeing you again too!
ReplyDeleteHetty! We were hoping to get in touch with you! We were hoping to come visit you and your family!
ReplyDeleteThat's the trouble with travelling and living abroad - it gets under your skin and its hard to imagine "real life" again!
